The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
