The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
