The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
