The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
