The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
