The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
