The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
