The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
