The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
