The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
