The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 As they sat around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
