The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
