The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
