The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
