The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
