The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven with its impregnable castles; 1 and by the promised Day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they sat by it, 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
God the Almighty always says the truth.
