The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism), 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
