The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
