The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
