The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism), 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
