The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 by the Promised Day, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
