The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
