The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 by the Promised Day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
