The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
