The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
