The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it, 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
