The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky containing great stars 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism), 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
