The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And by the Day promised, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
