The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
