The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
