The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
