The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
