The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And by the Day promised, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 when they were seated around it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
