Al-Burooj
The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 by a burning fire 5 When they were sitting near it 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
