The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
