The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
