Al-Burooj
The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens with constellations, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
God the Almighty always says the truth.
