The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
