The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
