The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
