The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is no joke. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Almighty God's Truth.
