The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
