The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
