The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
