The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
