The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
