The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
