The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
