Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
