The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
